He’s an Indie Rocker.

Guess who is Writer McWriterson today? This guy!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my guitar. Mostly the lack of attention she has received over the past TEN years.

The TEN years is what really got me. Has it really been that long? If we are not counting all of the ridiculous configurations of Sweet T, then the answer is YES.

And if you have never heard Sweet T then follow the link below:

Anyways…back to that whole decade thing. My entire life has revolved around songs. My teens were pretty much nothing but going to shows and playing music with my friends. I just don’t really know where the interest in being on the stage faded. Well, the break up of Juniper was the start and after that it all becomes hazy.

Looking back, I invested way too much time in sitting in my room listening to music and not really putting much effort into creating it. This is really sad considering the house I lived in was loaded with every tool imaginable to help one succeed in making a recording. We are talking the analog days too! This stuff wasn’t cheap!

I don’t regret too much of my life as I have worked pretty hard to accomplish goals in order to not say “i wish i could have done this…”. I do feel as if I missed the boat on the raging tours that could have happened in my twenties. The last time I toured was in my late teens!

I don’t really think it is the lack of touring that bothers me. I think that it is that lack of having a tangible recorded object of music to call my own that isn’t some sort of demo.

I hesitated on mentioning this in that say it, do it posting a couple of hours ago, but here goes…

I have been working on songs. There are so many tools that make this process easy now, that I knew it had to be the time. Living with an incredible musician doesn’t hurt either. Starting tonight, I begin recording guitar demos. Next (i love this part) I will be sending the files to my best pal in California to lay down the drum tracks and possibly some fun effects. After that, I will be coercing talented voice pros to sing over top of the music. Perhaps…some shows could come next.

I recorded a few tracks back in 2005 (rough demos) with the help of Jeremy Rhodes under the name Kickstands, so I guess that name will stick for now. You can hear those recordings at the dated myspace page below:

(the track jazzercise is from high school and finally made its way onto the net) - also - pay no mind to timing —- it was all written and recorded on a Saturday afternoon.

Anyways, here goes.
